Estate management is the art and science of directing and supervising interest in land and landed property with the aim of securing optimum return which may not be financial but may be in term of social benefit, status, prestige, political, or some other goal.
Estate management as a profession is a principal calling or vocation which require acquisition of special skills and knowledge in supervising the use, development, management of land and landed properties.
The Estate management programme is designed to prepare students to appreciate the complexity of legal, economic, technological and social impacts on the use, development and management of land and the environment. The emerging world trend in technological advancement and environmental concern, calls for the need to design responsive programmes for the training of future graduates in Estate management. The degree envisaged is B.sc. Estate management. The programme is structured to equip the graduates with the academic and practical knowledge, to educate and train graduates for sound scientific, technical, entrepreneurial and managerial skills for estate surveying and valuation practice for the benefit and satisfaction of clients and the society.
